We appreciate your support! You have brightened the lives of others! Without the Brain, Nothing Matters. You Matter. Your Brain Matters!
Brian embraces life with an adventurous spirit, love, laughter and plenty of jokes. He is a wonderful father, husband, and now grandfather. At the beginning of May 2022, Brian Started slowing down and and his wife and family noticed. He wasn't himself telling jokes, laughing, and he began forgetting words. After given a "clean bill of health", Mary his wife insisted to the doctor that something still wasn't right. Later that May, Brian had a pacemaker put in due to a blockage in his heart. June 16th there was no improvement and Mary had a strong feeling to take Brian to the ER as he got up and got ready for work. Mary convinced Brian it would only take about an hour so he could get to work so he could go to work after.
Once at the ER, Brian was given a CT scan. That is when the neurologist came in and told them that Brian had a tumor in the left lobe of his brain so large the swelling was so severe it was pushing over to the right side of his brain. Mary had a feeling of peace surround her that everything would be alright and that moment of peace helped them throughout their journey.

Oscar was described to me by his sister-in-law, as a funny, joke telling full spirited man. She said he was in a good mood and had the best personality.
His wife found him one day cradled in the dark in a closet screaming with a headache.
Oscar was diagnosed with Glioblastoma.
I was told the first to go for Oscar was his voice. He and his wife battled Glioblastoma fiercely and remarkably for 2 years!
Oscar will always be remembered for his loving and funny personality.
Betty said Oscar was a "Gem of a Person!"

I enjoyed speaking with his sister in law recently over the phone.
We were brought together for a reason, to share our stories.
All of Brain Matters Foundation Community thoughts and prayers go out to your family!
Brain Matters Foundation reaches the local community through one on one personal encounters, word of mouth from UC Health facility use, and local business support.
We distribute ribbons and share my story with people in the community.
There is a lot of need for assistance around us. More people are affected by Brain Tumors and Neurological disorders than are known.
Therapies and copays cost a lot out of pocket. Many can not afford these extra cost that are necessary to recover properly. With rising costs in the economy some can't afford the fuel to get to all of their appointments either. That is when our Foundation steps in. We bridge that gap for them.
We are:
Voices for those that can not speak
Advocates of those warriors that fought
Protectors for the future generations
Educators for those that aren't aware
WE MAKE IT MATTER SO OTHERS CAN LIVE LONGER!
This gentleman was a husband of my former co-worker, they found his subependgymoma after he was hit in the head during a home remodeling job.
He then realized he was having headaches.
This leads us to the reason why Brain Matters Foundation is on the path of encouraging testing for early detection of brain tumors.
